The creative process

Starting to brainstorm on my upcoming projects. A carnival cake, a robot cake as well as an elegant 200 cupcake tower for a wedding. I am so excited to expand my portfolio. This will be fun, and I'm thankful for those hiring me to do this, and my friends that keep pushing me to go after my dream. More photos to come within the next few months! A blast of cake from the past.

A blast from the past.

So I thought I'd blog about when this cake obsession all started.
I've grown up in a very creative family. We made everything.
I learned the In's and outs of fabric, rhinestones and glue.
Somehow that wasn't enough for me.
I needed another challenge.

So I started creating edible art, made from cake.
Below are some of my first cakes.
I wont post the rest, because honestly they are quite embarrassing.

Baseball Cake for a BBQ / Birthday

"Potty like a Rock star" Baby shower cake
(Forgive the colors- it was a battle)

Potluck at the office. Awe... look I was so fluffy - I could die.

Bridal Shower cake - yes those are ball & chains on top :)

A Cake for "Rah"

Today is my little sister's 23rd birthday. Man time flys.
I still remember her in diapers, when she couldn't say Kristie, so she called me Lah.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl, I hope you liked your cake.

Finished Product...

Safari Cake :)

The idea... Giraffe print.
Now, Im no zoo keeper... but I truly thought a Giraffe was orange. Ha.

Well I guess they are yellow. But here was the beginning of the giraffe cake process...
Now, After all this work it dawned on me.

Waitasecond...

Giraffes are yellow.

Oh well.

Katelyn loved it, she also assured me that some Giraffes are in fact orange. Thanks Kate!

Welcome to my blog!

Im venturing out. Going to start getting my hands covered in sugar :)

I will start documenting my creative work here. I'm excited... Are you?
